Well, what can I say? A new e-home (somewhat), a new place to keep Crimson Ai stuff, and of course version 3 of the kitty blog. I’ve been having trouble keeping up with blogging because of RL work, but hopefully I get another place to share my opinions and what-not.
To begin with, last few weeks Phillipine b-ball fans actually got a glimpse of how the San Miguel Corp.-backed national basketball team would actually square off against our Asian neighbors. Honestly, I was surprised as to how the players actually reacted to the opposition. Clearly this team, which would actually be competing for an Olympic slot in Japan within the next few weeks, could give I think even the main Chinese national team a run for it’s zennies. Now only if we can stay consistent with a team that can have Jimmy Alapag, Mark Caguioa, Danny Seigle, Kerby Raymundo and Asi Taulava on the floor at the same time….
Chris Benoit. May he indeed be forgiven. We know he did something TERRIBLY wrong, yes, but why the heck do we have has-beens who haven’t been seen in a squared (or hexagonal) ring for at least two years blaming the industry for what the Rabid Wolverine went through? I’m still amazed how media would like to treat something that has happened 5-10 years ago as being the status quo up to this current day. As a wrestling fan, who may not know the ins and outs of the industry but at least know that it is indeed sports-entertainment, I hope that these has-beens can be forgiven by other people because they are still clinging to their pasts. And I also hope that these media practitioners, who only know wrestlers BY NAME (well, maybe except The Rock and Hulk Hogan) just focus back on whatever is happening in the Middle East.
Speaking of wrestling, E3 just went past the corner and boy, the nice things keep on popping up. THQ revealed some images from WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008, and it sure made my blood rush. Check out the pic below (courtesy of IGN):
As you could possibly see in the picture on the left, that beer-drinking brawler we’ve come to love known as The Sandman finally makes his next-gen appearance. And among those stuff that has been confirmed are the appearances of the charismatic enigma Jeff Hardy and a new finally reanimated RKO. So yeah, it won’t look like a Diamond Cutter rip-off of some sort. Somewhat. Now all we need are CM Punk, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von and we’re all set.
I also had the chance to go to the celebration of Nana day in the Philippines. For those who don’t have a clue as to what I’m talking about, Nana is a multi-media phenomenon which came from Japan. Without spoiling much, let’s just say it’s a story about girls’ hardships, friendships and rock music. Even though I was only able to attend the said event for about 2 hours, it was enough for me to realize that J-music is on the rise. The bands who performed there were really good… now if only the other in there APPRECIATED the non-J songs that were performed. Honestly, I was surprised that only a handful of people reacted to one band there that performed The Clash’s “I Wanna Be Sedated” and Blink 182’s “Dammit (Growing Up)”. I dunno, kinda broke what a part of Nana is all about really. Which is appreciation of rock music. Anyways, I wanna thank ETHEREAL’s vocalist, Reia, for the invite. Next time ulit :p
BTW, there’s a slew of animé shows popping up within the next few weeks. School Days, the H-game notoriously known for it’s bloody endings, made it’s debut around a week ago, along with the second seasons of both Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (which is also based off a PC game, this time with it’s loli-psychos) and Zero no Tsukaima (starring the ever lovable S&M mage: Louise Francoise de la Valliere). So far, these shows are currently what’s keeping me from playing Super Robot Taisen Original Generations on my trusty ole’ PS2. And these are also the cause of me doing something like this —->
I think that’s already enough for my first post. Now, it’s time to bracen myself up, for football season is coming. NCAA Football 08 looks stunning (judging from the Xbox 360 demo), but that doesn’t mean that the Ambergris Generals will just stroll till the next season. The usual people rambling about the differences of the game from past incarnations and how their online connections suck would be the main dish, as usual. And when they come, I’ll be ready. That’s because I’m the Rated R Nekostar.
This would be my parting shot for this week’s ramblings:

… and only time will tell when that would become reality.
